Whipper Snapper’s Jimmy McKeown Crowned Gold

We’ve got some incredible news to share. Our very own Head Distiller, Jimmy McKeown, has just been named Master Distiller/Master Blender of the Year. Crowned Australia’s Top Whiskey Distiller at the recent Icons of Whisky Australia Awards.

Hosted by @whisky_magazine, the annual awards celebrate the best in the business. These awards recognise innovation, dedication and excellence across the Australian whisky industry. This year, the spotlight shone brightly on Jimmy. The ceremony was in Sydney, where he was officially crowned Australia’s top whiskey distiller.

This recognition is a huge honour, not just for Jimmy but for the entire Whipper Snapper team. Jimmy’s passion, precision and tireless pursuit of quality are what drive our distillery forward, from the very first drop of Upshot to every limited release that hits the barrel.

We’re raising a glass to Jimmy and this golden achievement. It’s a proud moment for WA whiskey.
